Antonini Radiator, Inc. began operations in 1988. However, the Antonini family can trace its radiator roots much further. Family members have been involved in the radiator repair industry for over 70 years.
In 1929, Louis Marco opened his first radiator repair shop in Schuylkill County, PA after being in the radiator business in Philadelphia. After WWII, Lewis "Bob" Antonini joined Mr. Marco. The two men later became brothers-in-law and a third partner was added. Mr. Marco died in 1965, the original company changed names, and soon the Antonini children, Donna, Robert, and David, became active in the business. Mr. Antonini was responsible for many innovations in the radiator repair industry. He over saw the construction of two larger buildings for the company. He designed, engineered, and built a solder recycling system (which is still used today to smelt and manufacture second-hand solder), and built and ran the company's own core manufacturing facility. (The name still bears an "A" in the middle - representing the Antonini part of the equation.) After a partner dispute in 1988 and a "breakup" of the company he co-created and led for 44 years, Mr. Antonini, along with his children, founded Antonini Radiator, Inc. at 437 Front Street, Pottsville, PA.
The original Front street address employed just three people and was a "back alley" operation. Although the building was quite small and inaccessible, the tradition of Antonini Radiator, Inc.'s highest quality radiator repairs began there. Specially designed crank box Peterbuilts, reinforced Komatsu oil coolers, and the tube-to-header rebuilding of fanfold radiators, along with many other innovations originated at the Front Street location.
In 1990, Antonini Radiator, Inc. began construction of its current facility at 325 East Railroad Street, Pottsville, PA.
Mr. Lewis "Bob" Antonini died in 1991. He left behind a legacy of high quality customer-oriented business practices. His was a life long dedication to this industry, his family members, and his businesses.
Antonini Radiator, Inc. began operations at its Railroad Street address in July of 1991. In 1992, a complete waste-water recycling system, using environmentally friendly biodegradable chemicals, was added. In 1998, Antonini Radiator, Inc. introduced its Ant-Rad Aluminum Vibra-Cleaner.
The company now employs 15 people full time, is consistently in the top 5% echelon of repair facilities, and produces thousands of refinished and repaired products each year. Some of this dedicated staff at Antonini Radiator, Inc., has been with the company in excess of 10 years, and are considered some of the most "top notched" cooling system experts in the industry. The three owners of Antonini Radiator, Inc., Donna, David, and Robert Antonini, attribute the success of the company to their demand for high quality, long-lasting products, the employees, and their many years of experience.
Donna Antonini has been employed in the radiator repair business for 27 years, has an extensive background in all radiator applications, and is responsible for billing and office management.
Robert Antonini started repairing radiators at age 13. He went on to graduate from The Pennsylvania State University in 1982 with a degree in personnel and business management, and was inducted into the Professional Honorary Management fraternity. This year, 2002, marks his 29th year in the radiator repair field. Robert is responsible for operations and personnel management and marketing. He also designed the Ant-Rad Aluminum Vibra-Cleaner, and is responsible for 95% of the antique radiators repaired by the firm. He also gives seminars on cooling system maintenance to organizations and repairing conferences.
David Antonini, who also started at age 13, went on to graduate from Williamsport Area Community College in 1981 with distinguished honors in welding and is state- and nuclear-grade certified. He is responsible for all welding aspects as well as sales.
Again, the highly trained staff of Antonini Radiator, Inc. completes the picture. Most employees have a long tenure with the company. Antonini Radiator, Inc. is a member of NARSA (National Automotive Radiator Service Association), the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce, the Schuylkill County Area Vo-Tech Education programs, the Pottsville Business Association, the PA Sheriff's Association, and contributes to many local and nation organizations, such as the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
Antonini Radiator, Inc. has a commitment to employee training, equipment updating, and staying abreast of the latest technologies in this ever changing field. Our business will continue to grow as the radiator industry grows.
Antonini Radiator, Inc. will expand and develop new machinery and personnel to remain the cooling system authority it now is. Our deep radiator roots will continue to grow.
